Pallotti Slugger to Represent Maryland

Kieran Flannery, 2007 All-Met selection catcher and power hitter from St. Vincent Pallotti, has been named to the 2008 Power Showcase All-World and All-American Team. As a result of his achievements, Flannery was chosen to represent the state of Maryland in the 2008 International High School Power Showcase Home Run Derby Contest.

Flannery is weapon both offensively and defensively. Not only is he an elite catcher, but last season he batted .468 with eight home runs and 45 RBIs. Flannery’s slugging percentage was .989.

Currently Flannery is a senior, and he has committed to attend Indian River Community College in Florida to play for coach Bob O’Brien’s reputable baseball program.

The contest will showcase the top 50 “power-hitting prospects” in the country, as well as 10 international players. The Home Run Derby will take place at Tropicana Field, home of the Devil Rays, in Tampa, Fla. Jan. 5.
