Beth Tfiloh has been a scoring machine on the softball field in the first part of the 2008 season.
The Warriors have scored 76 runs and have been one of the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland’s best offensive teams -- a big reason they they jumped to a 4-0 start and been one of the C Conference’s best squads.
Beth Tfiloh’s defense and pitching have also been strong, allowing only 20 runs so far.
The team’s most impressive win came at Roland Park. The numbers looked more like basketball as the Warriors rolled to a 36-6 victory.
Warriors pitcher Sara Shefter struck out 12 batters in five innings while going 5-for-6 at the plate with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs. Freshman leadoff hitter Jenny Sloane reached base and scored every time she came to bat. Junior catcher Lindsay Harris went 3-for-4, scoring four times.

Towson Catholic has also been excelling in the C Conference with a 5-1 record overall.
After losing their first game of the season to St. Vincent Pallotti, 3-0, the Owls came back to win their next five games, outscoring their opponents, 57-16, including a 27-1 victory over St. Timothy’s.
Sophomore third baseman and pitcher Rebekah Alban leads the team with five doubles, 10 runs, and is tied for first on the team with seven stolen bases and one triple.
Sophomore starting pitcher Jessica Butler has a 0.82 ERA allowing eight hits and striking out 72 batters. She also leads the team with a .667 average and is tied with senior second baseman and shortstop Brittani Perez for the lead in RBIs with eight.
